If thatโ€™s too pricey, you can go to Teia Coworking Vergueiro instead (itโ€™s inside Centro Cultural Sรฃo Paulo, on the lower floor)
You scan the QR code, register (if you want) and they have the coworking space for free. You can also stay in the library if you want to instead of being inside
larslillo 2mo
Oh great, thanks, seems like amazing options I had not found otherwise! Not at all too pricey for coffee and a place to work
larslillo 2mo
Tried BETC Havas today and it was a great pick!

Which area in Floripa nomads stay? North or South? Any specific area name?
Hey guys!
My name is Rebbeka, I'm from Brazil (Recife). I would love to meet new people and hang out. Also, no one speaks English here, so...๐Ÿ˜…
Does anyone know if September is a good season to visit Floripa ? Iโ€™ve heard that it tends to be cold during that time.
larslillo 2mo
It has been crowded enough the last few days :) I don't know about mornings, though, I usually start working after lunch!
Not so good for beach season yet, but the winter season ends in september
Hi everyone! I just arrived in Florianรณpolis and am currently staying for 4 days while looking for a long-term/mid-term place to stay.
Iโ€™m looking for recommendations on safe, budget-friendly neighborhoods or direct leads for apartments/rooms. Key priorities for me are:
Safety (safe to walk around during the day/good area)
Affordability (good value for money)
Reliable Wi-Fi for remote work
If you have any suggestions, active listings, or local tips on where to look, Iโ€™d greatly appreciate your insights! Thanks in advance! ๐Ÿ™

Anyone here who doesn't speak Portuguese and from North America, driven a car in Floripa and mainland? Are the road signs and rules similar?
My favourite areas are Campeche and Lagoa.

Floripa is pretty safe, I wouldnโ€™t worry a lot about it. Focus on what are your priorities like: cafes, close to the beach, good modern gym, close to a mallโ€ฆ and go for it.
The island is considerably small, so you can always take an uber to wherever you want
nthnjns 1mo
I've driven all over Brazil in a rented car. Only thing I'd advise is watch out for random speedbumps on the highway ๐Ÿ˜‚ otherwise it's pretty safe. Floripa is the safest, but I've also driven all over Minas, the Coconut coast, all the SP coastline, and to the Ilhas without issue. Cars are fairly priced at the airport and easy to book and return.
jjames 1mo
The random speedbumps are real ๐Ÿ˜‚
jjames 1mo
Welcome!
I prefer Centro as it's close to everything and well-connected, it's also slightly cheaper than Campeche and Lagoa too for rentals. Floripa is generally very safe all over but the safest neighborhood is likely Jurere Int'l (It's fancy, and FULL of babies/new parents ๐Ÿ˜…)

Hey everyone any recommendations for private hospitals and healthcare in Brazil for childbirth ?

Looking for around a smaller city like in state of Parana
Unimed hospitals overall are solid in Parana
Parana if you want small focus on Maringa and Londrina area
decent midsized cities with good hospitals
yujiny 1mo
Thank you how about in Curitiba?

my parents live there, def most convenient city in south brazil

close to sao paulo. close to santa catarina beaches. solid southern cone flights
Hey, Iโ€™m arriving in Salvador on Sunday and I just read now that you need a return ticket or a ticket out of the country for entering. How strictly is that being handled?
I enter through Sรฃo Paulo and they just asked me how long I was going to stay. Said 2 months. I bought the fake return ticket just in case but they didnโ€™t ask me for that
cotemoka 1mo
Never heard about the return ticket thing on Brazil
I've never had problem (but I'm Mercosur). Some european/asian friends have entered from Salvador, Rio, Sรฃo Paulo... always asked why, tourism, and perfectly fine.
rajeevn 1mo
I did for costa-rica, purchased a refundable ticket the day before (for a date after 3months) and after the immigration cancelled that ticket and waited for a police visit.

minonomad 1mo
I donโ€™t understand. Can you explain again?
rajeevn 1mo
Immigration asked for an onward ticket, I booked a ticket to El Salvador, they noted down some details from the ticket. I was concerned if cancelling would notify them, took a risk, there was no problem once I was inside and out before the limit.

Hi Guys, Do you know where i can find a group where nomads sell their stuff when leaving brazil?
jcoutz 20d
What kind of stuff? Try OLX
I know ola, mercado livre etc... i was asking for nomad groups
No. Iโ€™m brazilian and living at Florianรณpolis. Itโ€™s very hard! Do u need speak little portuguรชs for surviver.
Anyone in Florianรณpolis? I live in Lagoa and want to speak more English and discuss digital nomadism.
luskira 19d
find a local that can show you around
luskira 19d
brazil is a bit hard to travel if you dont speak portuguese
nomads 19d
true but you learn Portuguese fast in Brazil because of this ๐Ÿ˜„
luskira 19d
brazilians are very friendly and will help you learn portuguese
luskira 19d
but first they will teach you swear words
At Sรฃo Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Florianรณpolis have so much โ€˜gringosโ€™ you can integrate this community and surviver, but for buy things in street is hard, because workers donโ€™t speak. Knowing English is something for privileged people in the country.
Hello
Hello. If anyone is in Recife I can help getting around
luskira 18d
im in sao paulo, while there's more english speakers here than prob anywhere else in the country, ive had gringo friends come visit and they say its still pretty rough to get by here without the help of a local
How is the weather in floripa right now ?
If anyone is in Sรฃo Paulo and would like to go on bar hopping lmk
cotemoka 18d
better than Sao Paulo ๐Ÿคฃ
cotemoka 18d
This last 3 days its been getting "steady warmer", like i've been on the beach Tue/Wed/Thu, midday to 4pm, shorts and t-shirt
Last sunday was a little cold (but less than Sao Paulo)
Today a little drizzle but ~20ยฐC
cotemoka 18d
Obviously it always depend from were you are if that is good or bad
cotemoka 18d
I will say brasil is pretty easy to move around overall even without portuguese, i meanโ€ฆ worst case scenario, move your hands and you are done
cotemoka 18d
What do you find complicated in buying things on the street?
rajeevn 8d
Landed in Floripa in the dark, at 1am. To me the land is unknown the language is unknown the personas unknown, do I wait for daylight or ride the good night? What if I don't find AirBnB keys? (The host is sleeping). Mystery, fear, and then the curiosity of new experiences. Took a ride, silent roads, spooky-dark hills and lagoons, then the endless sudden speed bumps, and finally got inside the house safely.
Omg
You should not have done this honestly
Donโ€™t do it again ๐Ÿคฃ
Happy to hear youโ€™re safe and well at your place :)
I spent 5 months in Brazil if you have any questions to a foreigner that speaks Brazilian Portuguese and has good amount of experience there shoot me a message
Is anyone in Curitiba this weekend?
Wow!!
why? floripa is quite safe, or not?
Are you local?
No i am from Spain
Well for someone who has never been to Brazil I wouldnโ€™t recommend taking an uber at night to an airbnb in a place that you have never been to before without knowing if you can actually enter in the house or not
If youโ€™d ask any local I think theyโ€™d tell you the same. I spend in total about a year in South America and have met many locals that have given me certain rules to follow.
Sound reasonable your tips
How long have you spent in Brazil? and in Rio?
Which city do you like more in Brazil for digital nomads under your experience?
I would like to travel to Rio, Buzios, Floripa, Curitiba..
In Brazil 5 months in total of which I spent about 4 Months in Rio and the rest in Sรฃo Paulo
Rio is the most beautiful city Iโ€™ve seen in my life. Couldnโ€™t think of any other city that could compete for me personally. It has a heartbeat of its own. Used to stay in Copa Cabana 5 min walk from the beach. Perfect if you work remotely and want to do fun stuff in your free time. Lots of very friendly people that will look after you and show you their culture and life. The only downside is safety. Youโ€™ll have to watch out for your stuff and itโ€™s not recommended to go around the city alone at night. With locals that you can trust Iโ€™d say itโ€™s okay they know how to navigate. I had the best time in Rio so many good memories..
Also donโ€™t walk into the favelas by accident ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ first time I came (I like to run / hike on mountains) I just looked on maps for a way to go up a mountain and I ended up going quite deep into a favela until I realized people were looking so strange at me and I ended up in a really dark street, thatโ€™s when I realized Iโ€™m not where Iโ€™m supposed to be hahaha
Wow wow, i believe you so much, because i have never been in Rio and Brazil, i suppose is the most beautiful city on the world, i watched many videos from youtube and looks incredible, people have joy and passion for everything
Hahaha that sounds like a lot of fun, but only after it's over, haha You have a guardian angel protecting you
Yes itโ€™s true people do have. Itโ€™s very vibrant and colorful. Food is amazing too.. if you wanna know more about Rio feel free to ask me anything you wanna know. I
Great many thanks Mino! when i the flight i will ask some tips
De nada :)

Hello Guys, Iโ€™m from 29th October until 28th of November in Florianopolis. Is anyone else on the same time in Floripa and wants to hang out ? ๐Ÿ™‚
Hey everyone Iโ€™m an American in Itupeva near Sรฃo Paulo with a friend. If youโ€™re in tech or media, Iโ€™d love to meet as I am
rajeevn 1d
In Centro Floripa as well there are similar areas, I ended up going deep following the map to see the mountain-top view. Initially no one was looking at me, perhaps my appearance blends-in, but at an intersection I was confused which way to go and opened the phone and trying to figure-out, then strange eyes on me - this guy not local. Luckily it was daytime.
jcoutz 1d
There's some cool cozy nature spots around there, good choice bro, lots of biking spots
You should always enter a store or cafe to check directions and pull out your phone thatโ€™s what I learned ๐Ÿ˜
micko8 18h
Hey who knows what's the best to do in Rio during New Year eve ? But maybe one place or two incredible like a rooftop to see the fireworks than going in the streets ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ˜‡

I heard Copa Cabana is really good
